What I do when I procrastinate…..

As I was preparing for my recent relocation to New York City, I came across the following quote: “The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life.”-Jessica Hische.  Immediately, my mind began listing the various activities that I engaged in while trying to delay my work in human resources….. running, scrap-booking, jewelry-making, cooking, organizing, cleaning, drinking with friends.  Let me think….what had I been doing just the other day, when I snapped at my then fiance for suggesting that I read-up on the latest HR trends to prepare myself for upcoming job interviews in New York?  …I had been wedding planning.  I had been happily creating the invitations for our wedding.

The wedding is over and our move is complete.  We are settling into our new place in the upper west side, but I haven’t yet started preparing myself for job interviews.  I have, however, signed myself up for a month of pastry courses at the San Francisco Baking Institute and just finished brewing my first batch of beer…..and I’m SO excited  : )     I made a very conscious decision to pursue something that I enjoy, and I couldn’t be happier.   What could be better than sweets and beer?
